Charities
At Chefette, corporate social responsibility is a guiding principle upon which the company has been built as it recognises the importance of giving back to the community. Chefette is proud to continuously support numerous charities, non profit organisations, schools and churches throughout the island.
Donation Boxes
Since 2001, Chefette has implemented a Donation Box program whereby donation boxes are placed at all its locations across the island and funds collected. Distribution of the funds are made quarterly to one of the following seven (7) charitable organisations - Diabetes Association, Salvation Army, Variety Club, Barbados Red Cross, Special Olympics, Youth With A Mission and St. Vincent De Paul. Chefette also tops up the funds every quarter before distribution.
Childrens' Homes
The Thelma Vaughan Children’s Home, which provides 24-hour residential care for the physically disabled children and young people, has been receiving annual financial contributions from Chefette since 1987 through the sale of Christmas cards, tags and wrapping paper in all its restaurants. Sterling, Farrs & Nightengale have been supplied with computer equipment and furniture throughout the years in addition to an annual donation of toiletries. Campwood, Sayes Court and Haynesville which cater to infants from birth to 4 years, kids 4 to 11 years and special needs kids & adults 13 to 42 hears respectively all received toiletries and other much needed items.
The Barbados Red Cross
Since 1975, Chefette has assisted the Barbados Red Cross Society's "Meals on Wheels" programme with annual donations of 1,440 pounds of beef and 2,400 pounds of potatoes.
