Chefette Restaurants, Barbados’ indigenous family owned business, is again giving its full support to this year’s CIBC FirstCaribbean Walk for the Cure. As a Gold sponsor the local restaurant chain renowned for giving back to the Community and its generous donations to many charities, will be partnering with the organizers of Walk for the Cure 2018 to raise funds for the care and support of those affected by Cancer in Barbados.
During the cheque presentation, Chefette’s Advertising Manager, Lisa Carter said “The CIBC Walk for the Cure is the major event designed to build awareness of the fight against Breast Cancer. Chefette is thrilled to continue to support the walk, and giving to a cause such as this is very important to us because we recognise that many persons are impacted by this disease. These persons need help in several aspects of their lives and we trust that our contribution will improve the quality of some lives and more importantly, save others.”
This year Chefette will again have its own marketing campaign for the full month of October called ACT (Awareness Cure Togetherness) which includes pink digital menus, pink Snack Boxes & Sliced Pizza packaging and employees wearing pink pins in all Chefette Restaurants to assist in bringing a higher awareness to everyone and highlighting that early detection is important and it can save many lives.
The Walk for the Cure takes place on Sunday October 7th 2018 at CIBC FirstCaribbean Warrens at 3:30pm. The after-walk activities, which include the prize giving ceremony and local entertainment, will take place by the Dome Mall in Warrens. Persons who are interested in walking can register at the Barbados Cancer Society on Henry’s Lane.
