Chefette Restaurants and its valued customers continue to give assistance to several deserving charities. This time St. Vincent de Paul will benefit from the funds collected via Chefette’s Donation Box Programme during the first quarter of this year.
On receiving the cheque for $5,000, President of St. Vincent de Paul, Theresa Springer, praised the organization and said “St. Vincent de Paul Society extends a warm thank you to Chefette Restaurants Ltd for its continued support to the charitable efforts of the Society. This donation will go towards the Society’s Happy Programme which seeks to help students with school fees, back-to-school supplies and other related expenses.
Advertising Manager, Lisa Carter said “our Donation Box Programme has been raising funds to assist seven deserving charities since 2002. We sincerely thank our valued customers for continuing to donate to this cause. We appreciate the fact that the charities are always grateful for the funds donated and it is pleasing to see that we can always assist the less fortunate in our community.
The Donation Box Programme involves placing boxes at Chefette’s 15 Restaurants and two Barbecue Barns, allowing patrons the opportunity to make monetary contributions. The boxes are cleared every three months and together with additional funds made available by Chefette are donated to one of seven chosen charities. The other six charities are The Barbados Red Cross Society, Youth With a Mission, Special Olympics, The Diabetes Association, Variety the Children’s Charity and the Salvation Army.
