The Salvation Army is the most recent recipient of funds collected from Chefette’s Donation Box Programme in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Recently, Sherma Evelyn, Divisional Business Manager of the Salvation Army, was presented with a cheque in the amount of $5,500. Ms. Evelyn lauded the local restaurant chain and said, “The Salvation Army Barbados Division is thankful for this donation from the Barbadian public and Chefette Restaurants. This donation will help us further assist those less fortunate in our society. We serve 300 meals at our Feeding Centre, 75 persons in our Meals on Wheels program, and 225 persons in our Feeding Centre. Again, we thank you.”
Lisa Carter, Chefette’s Advertising Manager, stated “We are very appreciative of the generosity of our customers who have been making contributions towards the Donation Box Program since 2001. This shows that any caring Barbadian can make a contribution to a cause in support of the less fortunate of our country. The funds will be used towards the ongoing program of the Salvation Army, and specifically their Feeding Centre.”
CHEFETTE Restaurants continues to associate itself with initiatives that will assist in improving the quality of life of persons in need in local communities across Barbados. Our Donation Box Programme involves placing collection boxes at all fifteen (15) Chefette Restaurants and the two (2) Barbecue Barns, which are cleared every three months. Additional funds are also provided by Chefette and the combined total is donated to the charity featured during that quarter.
