Chefette Assists Special Olympics Barbados

Special Olympics, an international organization, which promotes sports for intellectually challenged young people in Barbados, continues to benefit from Chefette’s generosity for its numerous programmes. These programmes include sports, social outreach, health and wellness.

Recently at Chefette’s corporate office, Mr. Cecil Collymore, treasurer of Special Olympics was presented with a cheque for $7,500. These funds  were collected through Chefette’s Donation Box Programme which initially begun in 2001. The contributions made by Chefette’s valued customers and staff are cleared from boxes that are placed in the Company’s Restaurants, every three months and donated to one of seven worthy charities, on a rotating basis.
After the presentation, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Special Olympics, Donna King-Brathwaite expressed her gratitude and said “Special Olympics Barbados thanks Chefette Restaurants and the general public, for their generous donation to Special Olympics Barbados.  The funds received will be used towards our ongoing programmes for our Special Athletes.”

Lisa Carter, Advertising Manager at Chefette, responded and said “on behalf of Chefette I wish to take this opportunity to thank our many customers for their contributions to the Donation Box Programme. The funds from this programme along with contributions from our Corporate Office are being used to financially assist a number of charitable organizations which are engaged in various important and meaningful social initiatives across Barbados, like Special Olympics. ”
