Chefette Restaurants continues to give unwavering support to CIBC FirstCaribbean’s fight against cancer. The local restaurant chain known for giving back to the community by supporting local charities, is once again partnering with the organizers of Walk for the Cure to raise funds for the care and support of those affected by Cancer in Barbados. This year, due to the restrictions brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the lifesaving event was held virtually last Sunday.
During the presentation recently held at Chefette’s Corporate office, Krystal Maynard, Barbados Walk Manager, thanked Chefette stating “The COVID-19 pandemic has upended the world and caused us to find new and innovative ways of doing things and Walk for the Cure 2020, while staying true to its mandate of raising cancer awareness in the region and supporting cancer care and education. We thank Chefette Restaurants for coming on board with us.”
Lisa Carter, Chefette’s Advertising Manager responded saying “We are delighted that even in the midst of the global pandemic we are fortunate enough that we can still be a part of this year’s cancer awareness initiative. We are mindful that Cancer in its many forms affects persons from all walks of life and touches most of us in one way or another.”
She went on to say, “We will continue our in-house campaign throughout the month of October under the theme ACT - Awareness Cure Togetherness, which includes our pink digital menus, pink Snack Boxes and pink Sliced Pizza packaging as well as employees wearing Cancer awareness pins in all Chefette Restaurants and our Corporate Offices staff members wearing their pink polo shirts Fridays in October. We are determined to build awareness and highlight the fact that early detection is important because it saves lives.”
This year we encourage everyone to support CIBC’s annual crusade in the fight against cancer.
