Chefette Restaurants has once again displayed its generosity to an initiative for the benefit of young people in Barbados. Recently the local Restaurant Chain donated $21,000 to the students of the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic School. For over 31 years, Chefette has been assisting with the funding of an annual scholarship programme which serves to aid those students in dire need of financial assistance.
The Principal Sis Pauline Dempsey on behalf of the Students and Teachers, welcomed the representatives of the local restaurant chain when they visited the Jemmott’s Lane institution recently, and said “St. Patrick’s school is run by the RC Diocese of Bridgetown. It was founded to provide catholic education to those in need. Every child in the school has a subsidized place, as the fees charged do not meet the actual costs incurred per child.
A huge thank you to Chefette for supporting St. Patrick’s School year in and out by giving us a very generous donation which enables pupils who otherwise could not go to St. Patrick’s School to come here. It is a small school, and we really appreciate this help.”
Advertising Manager, Lisa Carter said, “Barbados’ development has largely resulted from the investment in education. We at Chefette will play our part in supporting the continual development of Barbados by providing assistance in the area of education. Therefore, we are delighted to have been given this opportunity by the St. Patricks Roman Catholic school to offer a monetary donation for the scholarships.”
