Chefette Assists the Diabetes & Hypertension Association of Barbados

The Diabetes and Hypertension Association of Barbados, formerly the Diabetes Association of Barbados, became the most recent recipient of funds raised through Chefette’s Donation Box Programme.. That charity received a cheque for $3,000.

On receiving the donation Ms. Kim Clarke, Public Relations Officer, expressed her gratitude to Chefette and said “The Diabetes and Hypertension Association of Barbados is grateful to have the support of Chefette Restaurants Ltd. Through your donation, we will be able to continue working towards our mission to improve the quality of life for persons living with diabetes and hypertension and those at risk of developing diabetes through up-to-date education, good self-management and control of their condition. This donation truly makes a difference as we work together to address our Nation’s needs on the prevention and management of these chronic non communicable diseases. We are extremely appreciative and thank you for the continued support.”

Lisa Carter, Chefette’s Advertising Manager in responding, said that “The funds were realized through the generosity of Chefette’s customers and staff members who made contributions via donation boxes located at all 15 of the Restaurant’sChefette locations and the 2 BBQ Barns. Despite the challenges we have had because of the Covid-19 Pandemic, we are still thankful that it was possible to make this donation. Chefette is grateful to its customers for their contributions over the years.”

The donation box programme started in 2001, and every 3 months the funds collected are donated to one of seven deserving local charities.
