Chefette Assists Special Olympics Barbados

Since 2001, Special Olympics Athletes from across Barbados have been receiving support from Chefette Restaurants through its Donation Box programme. These monetary contributions are made by its loyal customers and employees using the boxes which are placed in all 15 Chefette locations and 2 BBQ Barns.

Recently, at Chefette’s corporate office Roger Dyall, Special Olympic’s National Director, was presented with a cheque for $3,500 to assist the athletes. In accepting the donation, he said “On behalf of The Board of Directors of Special Olympics Barbados I would like to thank the Management and staff of Chefette Restaurants Limited for their kind donation. This is especially appreciated at this Covid time, when most companies are just focused on survival, but your organisation continues to support us.”

Lisa Carter, Chefette’s Advertising Manager, said in response “We take our Corporate Social responsibility seriously and we are delighted that we can contribute to the development of these special persons allowing them to develop their skills and talents. This enables them to make worthwhile contributions to our society. On behalf of the Chefette Family, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our many customers and members of staff who contributed via our Donation Boxes.”

The Donation Box programme funds are collected by Chefette’s Corporate Office every three months and the contents along with additional funds made available by Chefette are periodically given to a selected charitable organization that is engaged in various important and meaningful Social Programmes across Barbados.”
