Chefette Supports “Meals on Wheels” Programme

Chefette continues to assist the Barbados Red Cross Society with monthly donations of beef and potatoes for their Meals on Wheels programme. The assistance to the Charity has been ongoing since 1975.

Recently, during a presentation at Chefette’s corporate office President of the Society, Winston Waithe, received the donation and expressed gratitude to Chefette and said "On behalf of the Governing Council and Members of the Barbados Red Cross Society, I take this opportunity to express our sincerest appreciation for the much needed donation. Chefette has been contributing to the Meals On Wheels programme for over Forty (40) years.”

Advertising Manager, Lisa Carter said “we will continue to cherish this partnership with the Barbados Red Cross Society, as our aim is to assist in improving the well-being of the most vulnerable in our community by committing to being a major contributor of food supplies to the Meals on Wheels programme.

"The Barbados Red Cross Society's Meals-on-wheels programme provides freshly cooked meals to approximately 150 vulnerable persons daily, Monday to Friday. These include the physically challenged, housebound individuals, whether they are elderly, recuperating after a recent hospitalization, or have a disability confining them to their beds or wheelchairs. These meals are delivered directly to their locations with the kind help of our volunteer drivers.
