The 2018 edition of the Chefette Speed Team Shakedown Lime came off on the evening of Friday May 26th. This year's edition held no big reveals as in previous years with new cars and new liveries but there was still a high level of interest in the evening's activities. With the island on half day following General Elections, fans arrived early to meet and greet the Speed Team drivers Rhett Watson, Roger Mayers and Barry Mayers. This provided opportunities for autographs from the drivers on the fresh posters distributed by the lovely speed team girls. Entertainment was also provided by ADL dancers, Diamond Entertainment and performances by Blood, Shanta Prince and Biggie Irie.
The following day, activity shifted to the Sol Rally Show at the old Bank's Breweries facility in Wildey. The first time in this location, the Rally Show was a festive event where all of the competing teams were present along with corporate Barbados. Lots of giveaways and memorabilia were available for the hundreds who turned out to observe and participate. Under the Chefette tent, the Speed team shirts were going fast and fans got the chance to spin the wheel for opportunities to win merchandise and restaurant vouchers. For the children, there was face painting, a mechanical bull and a jumping tent.
These two days of activity helped to build anticipation ahead of the first competitive event , Flow King of the Hill from Hangman's Hill to Lion Castle in St. Thomas.
